The Opportunity

A Daily Meal is More Than Food—It’s Hope

Malnutrition affects millions in India, making education, work, and survival difficult. Hunger robs children of their futures and weakens communities from within.

Restoring Health: Nutrition prevents illness and strengthens bodies.

Fueling Education: Fed children can focus, learn, and grow.

Empowering Work: Reliable meals give families the energy to build better lives.

Spreading Hope: A simple meal can mean a second chance for a child or family.

Our Strategy

We feed the hungry in India through public stations and school lunch programs. Each meal includes rice, lentils, and vegetables for balanced nutrition and respects all religious dietary needs.

Calcutta Mercy fights hunger with a well-planned strategy:

  • Targeting Need: We focus on slums and villages with little to no food aid.

  • Partnering Locally: We work with trusted community groups to serve people better.

  • Providing Quality Meals: Food is sourced from reliable vendors, cooked hygienically, and given to families with food cards.

  • Keeping Costs Low: Bulk purchasing and audits ensure efficiency.

  • Following a Schedule: Meals are cooked overnight, delivered early, and served on time.

  • Working with Authorities: We secure necessary permissions and help families access additional government food aid.
